More than 2,000 people gathered in Orlando the first weekend of July for the 12th National Black Catholic Congress. This event brings together people from across the country and the world, united around a central theme- this year to “act justly, love goodness, and walk humbly with your God.”
The Mortel High Hopes for Haiti Foundation was given an opportunity to share our work in Haiti and invite the thousands in attendance to join us in our mission to empower the poor children that we serve in our schools. We hosted an information booth and Dr. Mortel addressed the full audience at one of the general sessions.
It was an incredible event—extremely well-organized and there was considerable interest in the work we are doing in Haiti. We’re so grateful for the experience and for all of the support received from the NBCC community. We’re looking forward to the work ahead together!
