High Hopes for Haiti
Youth Mission Group Comes to Haiti

It is very important to me to have groups involved in this summer camp. The selection process began months ago with over 23 applications. We selected our group based on school, community, and church involvement. Applicants received news on May 21 if they were a part of the special 8 taking the trip to Haiti. This year's group consists of seven females and one male. The majority of the students are from Notre Dame Preparatory School. Soon, I will be in Haiti with group of eight students ranging in ages from 16 to 20. These young people from the Baltimore area will spend a week in St. Marc working alongside faculty and staff from Good Samaritan School. They will assist in leading our summer day camp for 60 fifth graders.

These youth mission trips promote awareness and provide life changing experiences for both St. Marc students and the youth groups.

During the week long day camp, the youth group will interact with the students through arts, crafts, sports, bible stories and conversational English. They also will be doing manual work in the secondary school and visiting and work with some of the migrants in the camp cities near St. Marc.
